Barnimer Land
Around 50 kilometres east of Berlin lies the Barnimer Land: a plateau that inspired the poet Theodor Fontane. Here, species-rich mixed forests alternate with lakes that are ideal for swimming and boating. In Bernau you can visit the medieval town wall. The Niederfinow boat lift is a marvel of industrial culture.
