The Bach city of Köthen is dedicated to the famous musician and composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who left his mark on Köthen as Prince Leopold's court music director from 1717 to 1723. Other highlights include historic buildings such as Köthen Castle, the former seat of princes and dukes, and the town hall with its richly decorated wood panelling.
