Autobahnkirche Gelmeroda
The Gelmeroda motorway church was built in the 13th century. It combines elements of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. It was immortalised several times by the painter Lyonel Feininger, to whom an exhibition inside is dedicated. Another special feature is the light sculpture installed in 1999: This bathes the church in an artistic play of colours after dark.
