Archäologiepark Belginum

Welcome to Archäologiepark Belginum

On the subject of "Life on a Highway" visitors are able to detect a unique place of discovery from Celtic-roman times in Central Europe. The busy Trier-Mainz through road ran directly along the Hunsrueckhoehenstrasse in roman times. Passing many temple districts and a roman military base, the road ran through a settlement and a Celtic-Roman burial ground only a few hunderd metres away. The presentation, in the museum, of some of the 2.500 discovered burial grounds offer the visitors a fascinating insight into life during Celtic and Roman times. In addition to one of the most beautiful distant views of the region, one can discover something new over and over again in the constant special exhibitions.
